The Department of University Chemistry Education (DUCE) was established in 2019 to meet the requirement of university chemistry education in the new situation. DUCE has received support from the Department of Chemistry and the former Department of Applied Chemistry. The faculty of DUCE, including 4 full professors, 5 associate professors and 1 lecturer, is a team with rich teaching experience and reasonable age structure.

The Department of University Chemistry Education (DUCE) undertakes the teaching tasks of university chemistry and experimental courses for all students in Shenzhen University. DUCE is also responsible for the construction of chemistry course and textbook, and the reform of teaching methodologies. Members of DUCE undertake two projects of higher education teaching reform of Guangdong Province, and published a textbook "Experimental Course on Polymer Science" (Tsinghua University Press), and prepared a UOOC course "Chemistry and Life".

In order to cultivate more innovative talents for the new era, the Department of University Chemistry Education will insist on the "morality, nurturing, human-centered" education philosophy, focus on the construction of chemistry course and the reform of teaching methods, and aim at improving the quality of education and teaching.
