Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the list of projects funded by the Foundation (not including those in medical field) in 2020. The College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, Shenzhen University have 22 projects with an aggregate value of 8.81 million yuan included in the list. Among the listed projects, there are 10 general projects, which is a 100% growth over the previous year.

In 2020, the College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering submitted 125 project applications, which is 43.7% more than 2019. According to announced list, about 28.6% of applications have been approved, which is nearly 8% higher than the university-wide percentage in 2019.

Such progress is impossible without concerted efforts of all the interested parties, the targeted mobilization and support of the science and technology office, and timely construction of research policies. The application result indicates that the measures including application support and mobilization meeting, guideline construction and academic salon are very relevant and effective. In the future, the College will continue to provide the researchers with all-round support, help them explore their academic potentials, and work harder to make bigger achievements.

The College has always been attaching high importance on discipline development and scientific researches. With concerted efforts, the chemistry discipline of the College is ranked among the top 0.5% on the ESI list in 2020, ranked the top 200 in the world, and ranked the 33^rdin China. For scientific researches, the College has made great progresses in platform development and talent introduction. The College now has laboratories measuring 10000 m² in floor area, various instruments and equipment with a total value of nearly 100 million yuan, 1 provincial engineering center and 4 city-level laboratories.
